After you or a family member has just been treated for head lice at The Lice Slayers, here are some ways to get rid of head lice at your home:

• Everyone in the house needs to change their clothing and all bed linens. In addition, any hats, scarves, coats, and gloves, should be washed in hot water (at least 140 degrees F). Dry them with heat. If something is not machine-washable, take it to the dry cleaner, you must warn them about the reason the items need to be cleaned so it doesn’t infect any other items they are working with.
• Vacuum all chairs, sofas, headboards, and anything that may have contacted anyone’s head.
• Throw away combs, brushes, and any hair ties. The best thing to do is go out and get new combs, brushes, and hair ties.
